*Advised and mentored students in the Biology Scholars Program (BSP). A program for under-represented, first generation and low income students studying science at UC Berkeley*Managed a staff of 7 advisors, facilitated staff meetings and trained new advisors*Assisted in grant writing and data collection for grant narratives*Collected and tracked data of over 50 students per year through graduate school application process*Assisted with the compilation of an alumni database of over 2000 students*Collected and analyzed data of student admission to medical school comparing BSP to UCB*Reviewed literature on state-of-the-art of science diversity*Wrote the yearly reports to funding sources on program success and accomplishments*Co-developed and taught a class on leadership skills at UC Berkeley*Assisted in the planning and implementation of the program's annual diversity conference for over 100 representatives from different academic institutions *Led workshops on medical school requirements and "becoming the optimal candidate" for disadvantaged students at UC Berkeley

*Assisted in the outcome evaluation of the FACES program; an internship program that introduces Oakland and Berkeley inner city high school students to careers in health careers*Recruited and facilitated focus groups with program participants to determine their satisfaction with the program and the impact that program had on their lives*Conducted one on one interviews in Spanish with individual participants and their parents to understand the parents involvement and understanding of the FACES program and their child's involvement*Conducted phone surveys with FACES affiliates and Children's Hospital staff members working with FACES to learn how they perceived the effects of the program on the student participants*Provided general assistance to lead evaluator; wrote summaries of focus groups and interviews and compiled data to be included in the final report
