    I worked as an intern in the Histocompatibility Laboratory for six weeks. There I shadowed the technicians at the following stations: login (logging in the incoming samples), extraction (lysing the cell and purifying the DNA), labscreen (utilizing HLA antigens to detect antibodies), labtype (performing SSO and SSP hyrbridization), KIR typing (hybridization using KIR cells), Atria (a form of high resolution hybridization), and Protrans (a form of high resolution hybridization). I was able to perform some hands on extraction, SSO hybridization, SSP hybridization, Atria hybridization, and Protrans hyrbridization in addtion to assisting the technicians I shadowed. In my off time I would either work on homework or assist the lab in any way that I could.
