In my recent long term role at Lansdowne School, I implemented teacher’s schemes of work to 5 mixed ability SEN classes (ages 15-18) for Unit Awards, Entry Level, and IGCSE qualifications. Effectively liaised with colleagues and the T.A. to offer engaging lessons on Research Projects, Jack the Ripper, Journalism and Travel. Taught humorous bespoke drama lessons once a week to boost speech and language, physicality and inclusivity.

Planned and taught Drama education across Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 (ages 11-18), delivering the GCSE and A-level to mixed group pupils in a diverse setting. Schemes of work included: Public Speaking, Roald Dahl, India, Shakespeare, Blood Brothers, Pantomime, First Give- Social Issue Presentations, Commedia Del 'Arte, Trestle Masks, Monologues, Devising, Brecht, Stanislavski, Physical Theatre, Complicite, Machinal, Berkoff and Our Country's Good. I ran afterschool interventions and drama clubs including Lower School Drama, Shakespeare's Women and Men. Co-directed productions including A Midsummer Night's Dream and Yr8 Pantomime: Rapunzel II. I also planned and taught Key Stage 3 English (ages 11-13) delivering schemes of work such as: War Poetry, Victorian Literature, Frankenstein, 1984 and Creative writing.

Planned, modelled, facilitated and assessed Drama to mixed ability classes (ages 14-18) in a diverse Title I state school. Effectively used data, tracking and target setting to monitor progress and plan lessons in order to support course requirements and pathways for graduation. As a home room teacher I supported the school ethos of encouraging ‘motivated, respectful, life-long learners’ by advising students with their future college and career opportunities. Successfully directed and produced variety programs such as A Night on Broadway and the ‘Still I Rise’ Black History Program to students, staff and the community. Effectively managed a budget, led rehearsals, and facilitated Drama Club in order to boost fine arts morale within the school.

Supported underachieving Year 6 pupils in order to accelerate progress in literacy and numeracy and add value in pupils. Liaised with the teacher in assessing children’s progress as well as organizing activities and trips. In charge of managing resources and educational materials.

Designed stimulating activities and led an afterschool club for 22 Key Stage 2 pupils on Shakespeare’s life and times, Elizabethan theatre and acting methods that helped children build confidence and realise their potential, culminating in a celebratory summer performance of The Tempest.

Excelled in customer service by supporting the Front of House in helping Globe patrons have an enjoyable theatre-going experience. Welcomed guests, checked tickets, sold cushions and programmes, directed guests to their seats, alerted Front of House of any disturbances and attended to ill patrons.

Worked to 48 hour deadlines reviewing at least 1 show a week. Increased writing skills and knowledge of London’s theatre industry by attending performances in all disciplines (abstract, classical, comedy, musical, etc.) and writing summaries analysing the productions’ high or low points. Increased website traffic by promotion on social websites.

Followed through with teachers’ lesson plans and engaged Key Stage 3 and 4 students in coursework from English, Math, Science & the Arts. Communicated effectively with Spanish-speaking students on basic English language skills to support inclusion in the school community.

Brought conceptual ideas to the creative team, led vocal warm ups and acting exercises, directed individual scene work for students, ages 14-18, in Seussical, Urinetown, Romeo and Juliet, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Lil’ Shop of Horrors, and Bat Boy the Musical.

Instructed intermediate to advanced students, ages 12-18, in grammar, comprehension, essay writing and public speaking. Liaised with teacher regarding lesson plans and helped create successful activities for motivating students to engage with the subject matter.
