Though primarily a Marine Biologist, I manage client expectations as a project manager and play a vital role multi-disciplinary aspects of the environmental consulting and geotechnical engineering firm. I perform construction planning and oversight to comply with ESA Section 7 and state priority habitat and species requirements. Projects have included emphasis on marine mammals, ESA-listed salmon, forage fish, native eelgrass, and critical areas for new construction, maintenance, permitting, and research. As a proponent of innovation, I strive to streamline data collection and management through emerging technology with user-ease in mind.

My research in the Marine Microbes and Toxins unit involved performing independent study searching for presence of antibiotic resistance genes, KPC and NDM-1, in environmental DNA throughout Puget Sound. Study in this lab required skill in PCR and qPCR techniques, data management, clean lab practices, independence, and organization. This position was funded by the University of Washington Undergraduate Research Program (URP) and I presented this study as part of the URP symposium in May 2014.
