CurrentNewell Highway Upgrade – Parkes BypassAs a Site Engineer for the Newell Highway Upgrade – Parkes Bypass project, a $200 million infrastructure development for Transport for NSW, I am responsible for overseeing the execution of a major highway relocation and the construction of a 10.5 km bypass. The project includes the following key elements:Relocation of the regional highway by approximately 2 km to the west, linking Maguire Road to the north and Barkers Road to the south, with a new two-lane bypass (one lane in each direction).Four key intersections, including:T-intersections at the southern end (Barkers Road) and northern end (Maguire Road).A staggered T-intersection at London Road.A four-way roundabout at Condobolin Road.A new bridge over the Broken Hill and Parkes to Narromine rail lines, as well as Hartigan Avenue.A shared pedestrian/cycleway bridge over the Parkes Bypass, connecting Victoria Street to Back Trundle Road.An extension of Hartigan Avenue, linking Brolgan Road (west of the bypass) and Condobolin Road.Modifications to local roads to integrate with the new bypass.In this role, I manage daily on-site activities, ensuring the quality, safety, and progress of the construction work. I collaborate closely with the project team to ensure that all phases of the project are completed on time and within budget, contributing to the successful delivery of this complex infrastructure upgrade.
