My mission is to assist those in need and give them a voice. I believe I can make a difference in all my client’s lives for the better as well as provide them with resources that fit into their daily lives. My self-confidence has continued to progress. Communication is key when starting a career in social work. I consider active listening one of my great strengths. I am efficient in engaging parents during intake assessments and collaborating with clients to complete treatment plans. My first-year vision is to start the process in obtaining my LCSW as well as begin my career. My third-year vision is to obtain my LCSW and work in a clinical setting. My five-year goal is to open a private practice or nonprofit agency that accommodates youth, teens and young adults. As a 3.8 GPA graduate from the Social Work Master’s program at the University of Southern California, with over 600 hours in an in-field practical placement at West Covina Unified School District, I have the necessary foundation to best impact the community for the better. My two social work internships have given me extensive and varied experiences as a social worker in an educational setting as well as mental health agency. I provided psychotherapy to a socioeconomically diverse population of K-12 students. I conducted individual therapy as well as family therapy for students with a variety of behavioral disorders.
