Through this process, I maintained a grants calendar with deadlines for applications, invoices and reports in addition to writing grants and creating budgets and report documents. I worked to expand the annual fund drive to incorporate multiple personalized direct mailers and social media marketing.I managed multiple fundraising events, highlighted by a 5K walk/run. I was promoted to 2-1-1 Operations Manager after three months as information and referral specialist. During my time as the operations manager, I oversaw the implementation of a new cloud-based telephone system by learning how to install the technology and training staff to use. I also assisted the 2-1-1 Director with a national accreditation application, including drafting policies and procedures manual. I also managed the daily functions of the multi-media contact center (telephone calls, texts and emails) and provided continuous support to a staff of three information and referral specialists. With this basis of knowledge, I re-designed the training process and manual to provide enhanced, interactive training modules.

I assisted inquirers to the 2-1-1 Contact Center by assessing the inquirer's needs and determining their options. Through a series of questions, I determined if the Inquirer was eligible for specific programs; I intervened in crisis situations and advocated on behalf of the inquirer, as needed.

La Vallee De Jacmel, Haiti

For the practicum phase of my graduate program, I provided on-site program assistance from July-November 2014. My duties included collaborating with area teachers and principals to improve school participation in academic enrichment programming and cooperating with the community library to build use of a new computer lab. I also conducted a survey of more than 50 schools in the district to gather statistical data on students and teachers as well as the principal's knowledge of the organization.Data and observations gained through work in Haiti combined with theories and practices learned on campus provided me the insight to write a comprehensive strategic plan. Analysis and recommendations focused on increasing the impact and sustainability of the Alliance's programming and identifying new avenues for increasing awareness and funding.

I was a member of the Data Collection Team for an In-door Residual Spraying (IRS) Campaign to combat malaria. I assisted with training and supervision of data entry teams in the district offices to ensure IRS performance statistics are logged accurately. I served as a liaison with the head office to identify immediate action needed from the RTI team leaders and supervisors.During this time, I created the Peace Corp Tanzania Malaria Team’s social media presence to educate the Volunteer community and partner organizations. I also trained 20 Volunteers and local counterparts on using social media to foster malaria prevention.

Key aspects of my Peace Corps service included providing community assessment and strategic planning, designing and implementing interactive curriculum geared towards strengthening students’ critical and creative thinking skills, and empowering women through small business and life skills.

I served as media liaison including writing press releases and providing media interviews in addition to marketing to tourism, art and quilting industries with international range. I coordinated a new brand implementation including a fresh logo, font, tagline and website. I coordinated the scheduling, logistics and volunteer training: internationally recognized workshops, Annual Benefit Live & Silent Auctions and various community events.
