I had the chance to work in a fantastically privileged role where I was able to support kindergarten classes with children who have identified disabilities or additional needs. The role involves a lot of mediation, fast paced and high stakes problem solving and multi tasking. It is as much about education as it is about validation and encouraging curiosity.

Working with Randwick City Library was such a phenomenal opportunity and over the time I was there I achieved a lot and learnt even more. I started in this position just before the lockdowns hit. I managed to support the team to move all of the early literacy programs to an online format so we could continue to engage our patrons. I developed multiple interactive online programs and activity sessions that were extremely successful both independently and with my team. Some of the highlights of my time at the Randwick Library were my weekly Kids Book Chat sessions where we were able to develop relationships with publishers to give our patrons early reviews of new and exciting books. My weekly babies and toddlers singing session had 30+ regular watchers and some of the videos peaked a few thousand views. I helped to develop the "Spark in the Park" events in response to the high demand for in person early literacy events post COVID lockdown. ranging from event development, to risk assessments and setting up AV technology.I also developed many different skill sets in order to facilitate different program. From programming to music making. From video editing to animation and then from social media management to Dungeons and Dragons Game Master.

I loved working at the Aquarium. I was able to give informative talks to large groups of people. Engage new people with the beautiful sea creatures in the touch pool and provide personalised small group tours. I learnt a lot about impromptu presentation and microphone skills. I also developed a great knowledge of the ocean and other sea creatures. I spent time operating the penguin boat ride in the penguin enclosure and also maintaining tanks and feeding animals.
