I work in the Weimer lab with mentor Linnea Helenius on solar thermal water splitting for green hydrogen production. Some of my responsibilities include:- Carbon LECO combustion analysis- Hg intrusion porosimetry- Active material synthesis- SEM imagery- Reticulated porous ceramic fabrication via replication method- Process development and optimization

I am doing undergraduate research with Professor James Nabity on the use of ionic liquids to filter carbon dioxide for use in an ECLSS System. We are partnering with Boeing to develop novel technologies using ionic liquids and building off of existing technologies such as the one used by Honeywell in CDRILs. Some technologies that we are currently researching are deep eutectic solvents, supported ionic liquid membranes, and using ultrasonics to aid in carbon dioxide desorption.

I am one of the treasurers for Out in STEM (oSTEM) CU, which is a student organization dedicated to offering community building and professional development opportunities to members of the LGBTQ+ community in STEM. In my role as treasurer, I purchase supplies for our weekly meetings such as acquiring miniature pumpkins for our Halloween collaboration event, waffle mix and toppings for our community building event, and snacks for general meetings. As treasurer, I am also responsible for requesting funding from organizations such as the Student Organization Allocations, the Inclusive Culture Council, and University departments such as the Creative Technology and Design program and the Mechanical Engineering Program.

I am one of eleven student ambassadors in the Chemical and Biological Engineering department. In my role as ambassador, I meet with the department heads to offer suggestions on how to best support students and faculty in the CHEN/CBEN program. This program also gives me the chance to offer advice to younger students as well as gaining perspective by listening to older students.

I assisted in office sanitation and upkeep as well as maintaining patient comfort and organization by sterilizing rooms after patient use, cleaning and storing all used hygiene tools, checking patients in, scheduling appointments, and showing patients to their rooms.

I ran the sound and lighting boards for in park and hotel shows as well as assisting in set building for events such as the Go-Xtreme launch, Brick-Or-Treat, and the Red White and Boom Fourth of July firework show.

I worked with doctoral student Arnab Dey to collect and analyze twitter data surrounding the topic of abortion in the United States. My roles were researching credible sources, setting criteria for use in our study, sorting twitter data, and writing about our findings.

I helped enforce covid protocols at the pool and made sure the pool deck was clean and safe for all the guests. I also made posters and flyers to keep club members up to date on events, as well as running errands for my boss, such as delivering money to different departments.

I was involved in customer service, product distribution, and assisted in maintaining store quality and organization. My responsibilities included personal customer care and helping to increase flow in the store.
