General Manager
CurrentThe General Manager takes 100% responsibility for everything that happens at the branch. S/he works to develop excellence in the staff and build the satisfaction of Rentex's customers. The GM is responsible for all financial aspects of the branch and deals with facilities and security. His/her industry experience, management skills and life experience allow him/her to spot future issues and resolve them before they become problems. The General Manager protects the business and always acts with good judgement on behalf of the business. The G.M. manages the Operations Manager and the QC Manager. S/he coaches and develops these employees as they lead and develop the rest of the staff. The General Manager is always looking into the future to ensure the business runs as smoothly as possible. The GM works with the Vice President of Operations to ensure the success of the branch for the next 6 to 12 months. S/he takes the highest level of ownership of every facet of the Rentex branch. The General Manager and the Warehouse Manager share a production mindset. Like the Operations Manager, the GM also has a managerial mindset. Additionally, the GM also has a business mindset that is focused on strategy, future goals, and financial prudence. This combination makes him/her able to diagnose and resolve current problems, predict and prevent future problems, and create excellence at every level of the branch. The employee in this role represents the larger organization to the local staff. S/he must increase the reputation of the company among the operations staff at the branch and support national directives that affect the branch. The GM is attentive to what is best for the branch and what is best for the company at large. The GM's commitment to the larger effort and national vision creates in local team members loyalty to the wider company and not just the local branch or management team.
