Creative Director
▶ Oversee evolution, development, and creation of Bitch Media’s brand identity and visual voice across every platform and program in both digital and print including: bitchmedia.org, Bitch magazine, The Rage membership program, Fellowships for Writers program, Bitch on Campus, fundraising campaigns, email products, and social media▶ Guide and shape all editorial creative content on bitchmedia.org including creating original in-house illustration, commissioning illustrations and photo selection for long form features, columns, cultural criticisms, and special editorial packages, with the goal of establishing the importance of conceptual visual storytelling in media▶ Lead and execute art direction, layout design, print production, and print-to-web process for the quarterly print publication, Bitch magazine with support from Design Director; Commissioned and featured work from over 200 artists; Produced 13 print issues to date.▶ Supervise and manage responsibilities, success, and growth of the Creative team including managing the Design Director and design contractors; Set and manage department budget, project timelines, artist contracts, vendor relationships, ensuring all projects are delivered on time▶ Partner with key stakeholders—EIC, Publisher, Executive Director, board members—on high level strategies for organizational planning and growth; Collaborate with team leads to ensure their department goals are met with Creative support▶ Create an open, collaborative, and nurturing environment for direct report to feel empowered in taking ownership and leading projects; Support with execution of assets when needed▶ Oversaw and led the homepage design refresh of bitchmedia.org in summer 2019 by reallocating an unexpected surplus of developer budget, expediting a long-term organizational goal
