Jessica Davis is a Associate Vice President & Chief Sustainability Officer, Indiana University at Indiana University. She possess expertise in research, public speaking, science, teaching, ecology and 20 more skills. Colleagues describe her as "Over the past four summers, I have had the pleasure of working with Jessica in my capacity as Director of the Institute for Green and Sustainable Science. IGSS is a research, education, and outreach center located on the campus of Marian University that engages in the study of sustainability issues, particularly in ecology, green chemistry, and energy science. Jessica embodies the essence of IGSS, and performed a series of roles of growing importance within the institute. In 2010 Jessica spearheaded the social media and electronic outreach efforts. She was liaison to other governmental and non-governmental sustainability organizations in central Indiana, tripling the number of our relationships. She was event coordinator, organizing guest speakers and poster symposium. Whatever needed to be done, Jessica made it happen, and she made it awesome! In 2011 she added guest lecturer to her list of titles, sharing her expertise on the confluence of human, animal, and environmental health. In 2012 she was named program manager. In this role she reviewed and provided insights to a successful EPA proposal that I wrote that was fully funded for $216,000. And this past summer (Summer 2013) she became a full time lecturer in ecology and research associate. She delivered excellent lectures and received excellent teaching evaluations. As a research associate she brokered a partnership between Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc. and the Institute for Green and Sustainable Science (IGSS) for an undergraduate research project to conduct a quantitative study on soil erosion to determine the best practices for prevention of soil loss along waterways in Indianapolis utilizing Little Eagle Creek (part of the Reconnecting to Our Waterways (ROW) project) and Crooked Creek (on the campus of Marian University). Jessica was confident and adroit in her new roles. She is a natural in a variety of setting, and effortlessly interacts with students, PhDs, university administration, and NGOs alike. Jessica possesses all of the intangibles will allow her to work and lead in any setting."
