In my 8 years with the Artists Rep marketing department, there wasn’t a job I didn’t do to put the work of this 35-year-old theatre company into the world. Working with the Marketing Director, I was responsible for marketing each season to single ticket buyers as well as developing and implementing subscription renewal and acquisition campaigns. Duties included creating and implementing a robust advertising campaign, working with the Graphic Designer to ensure design deadlines were met and materials delivered; running regular reports to track ticket sales; writing and creating weekly email newsletters; writing and distributing press releases; overseeing social media postings; gathering information for and proofreading the playbill for each show; updating the website; and other marketing, promotional or PR activities as they arose. I was responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing campaign aimed at increasing visibility, attendance and enrollment for all programs of this 34-year-old physical theatre school and professional touring company. Duties included scheduling of local, national and international media campaigns, including development of print advertising, press releases and interviews for Dell’Arte performances, tours, and its annual monthlong theatre and music festival; managing the development, design, printing and distribution of all Dell’Arte publications, including brochures, postcards, programs, booking/recruitment materials, and lobby merchandise; overseeing website’s redesign (www.dellarte.com) and any updates to copy and imagery required; creation and maintenance of weekly email campaigns including development of patron and volunteer database; maintaining photo and press archives.

I was responsible for overall content selection and design of business, entertainment, world, state and national news for this daily newspaper. Duties included managing a staff of three copy editors while working in concert with reporters and photographers to plan out daily content; design and layout of up to 30 pages under strict deadlines; editing stories for content, consistency and Associated Press style; attending daily strategic meetings to brainstorm design concepts and coverage priorities; overseeing re-design, which included an updated look for the newspaper with new fonts, photo use and headline treatment; managing and prioritizing incoming press releases and marketing materials.
