Hi! My name is Jess, or Dr. G to my patients. I was born in a small city called Cardenas in Cuba. My family actually won a visa in the lottery and we came to the United States when I was only 3 years old. I was then raised in Miami, Florida. After high school I attended the University of Florida for my undergraduate training and I discovered my love for children. I built on this newfound love by also incorporating my love for art and science and so I began branching out into pediatric dentistry. I started my journey by volunteering at the pediatric clinic in SHANDS Hospital in Gainesville and in no time, I grew love for the profession. It actually inspired me to go on my first mission trip to Lima, Peru and it didn’t stop there. I gained acceptance to Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine, where I had the chance to grow into a leadership role very quickly with Nova’s Mission Club. When I’m not busy studying or seeing patients in clinic, you can find me at the Cary Street Gym. I actually used to work as a group fitness instructor 4 days a week teaching anything from strength and interval training to boot camp classes. On the weekends, I like to spend time with my family, read a book, explore new cities, take my dogs to the park, or even take a road trip up north to the mountains to go ski or hike.
