SimpleLab is an award-winning environmental testing and software platform. I lead scientific research, science communication, and internal/external data science and analytical products.Accomplishments include leading the development of the largest public + private water quality database nationwide now available as an API; the first open-source nationwide proxy layer for water service boundaries; the Tap Score algorithm to score drinking water quality as relates to impacts on health, aesthetics, and plumbing; advancing lab data integration and harmonization tools; leading BI tool development; and spearheading strategic data partnerships.

Co-author and researcher on California Human Right to Water Data Tool and Report (CalHRTW 1.0). Led research, data collection/analysis, writing, and tool development for the water affordability chapte, resulting in 2 technical reports and 3 peer-reviewed publications. Developed scientific insight for policy through study design, surveys & interviews (100+), data analysis, internal cross-agency partnerships, report writing, and public engagement. Led acquisition, standardization and spatial alignment of unstructured water cost, social-demographic (Census), and water system boundary data, statistical assessments of data reliability and error, and statistical analysis in R and GIS.

Developed four metrics (kg CO2eq/m3 water) that reflect the first comprehensive energy and emissions assessment for residential water use in urban Mexico, for which we:*Modeled life cycle greenhouse gas emissions for residential water sector (municipal piped distribution, in-home heating, and in-home purifiers) in Mexico.*Built a VBA based simulator to estimate total life cycle emissions from the Mexican bottled water (garrafones) industry.

Dr. John Harte's course Quantitative Analysis of Global Environmental Problems, which covered the quantitative analysis and modeling of environmental issues from chemical reactions and biogeochemical processes to climatology. 3. Dr. John Harte's course Ecology & Society, which covered social-ecological theory.

*Collected flower phenology data and analyzed soil carbon content to contribute to our understanding of how increases in local temperatures will effect vegetation, herbivory, and soil life in the longest standing simulated warming experiment begun in 1990.*Assisted in the experiment design, preparation, and data collection for a project investigating the nexus of evolutionary ecology and climate change.
