About Jessica Beckwith

I’m extremely passionate about connecting people, ideas, and story through art and design, multi-disciplinary installation, cross pollination, and creative collaboration. By creating spaces via permanent and pop up art installations, set design and event design. With an ability to ignite passion around innovation, inspiring companies, communities, and A&D to invest in new ideas. Working as an artist and an entrepreneur, managing high level businesses and teams, and having the privilege of consulting and driving creative strategy for the non-profit arts organization 4heads I Portal / Governors Island Art Fair has given me the multi-faceted skills necessary to collaborate and conceptualize with a broad spectrum of clients, thinkers, and visionaries and the passion and knowledge to engage target audiences, inspiring them to invest in innovation. I began my career in the Theater, studying at the National Shakespeare Conservatory, performing and directing in NYC and regional theaters and then went on to explore spatial and set design building props, sets, and floral for large scale events in NYC and nationally. I fell in love with innovative design and developed Catalyst Design Resource, representing several leaders in the design industry, working with architects and designers, and winning multi-million dollar projects nationally. Now I wish to bring both art and design together to impact our environment and collective consciousness through prescient experiential art installations. I look forward to meeting you and creating great work together. I am currently seeking opportunities to work collaboratively with a team, generating new ideas, creating immersive experiences and connection. My professional career has given me the skillset not only to conceptualize, develop, and manifest ideas, but also to garner the investment necessary to bring them to fruition.

    I create 360 degree immersive installations that engage principles of physics, light, the collective unconscious, entanglement, memory, and myth. I am influenced by James Turrell and Robert Irwin’s studies into perceptual psychology and their transcendent empathic light works in concert with Anselm Kiefer’s historical and archetypal imagery. Drawing from the void from which all form emerges and returns, I am continually questioning what is real and what is constructed. I activate the senses through an elemental language of light, hypnotic movement, refraction, water, sound, and broken, layered, and obscured shards of imagery in order to explore how realizations in science, such as quantum entanglement, which explains how one particle will experience, simultaneously, what happens to the other, play out within the interconnectivity of consciousness, memory, time, and space.
