I am a recent graduate from the University of North Texas who is finishing up her graduate school applications and ready to begin classes dealing with my passion- Maritime Archaeology. I am an Anthropology major with a minor in History and Italian. A passion of mine is anything dealing with the water. I have taught swim lessons for the past ten years and have obtained my boaters license so I can remain out on the water for as long as I can.In summer of 2016 I had the distinguished pleasure and honor to participate in a study abroad trip lead by the department’s faculty. The hands on experience was invaluable in expanding upon my existing knowledge of Italy. In addition to gaining more insight to the island Sardinia’s vivid history, the field work on active archaeological dig-sites provided me with the opportunity to link my studies to the real-world work I am passionate about. Hopefully, I will have another opportunity to travel back to Sardinia to work on or lead a research group along the island and eventually lead me to living and studying in Italy. I have worked either in the water or with children my entire life and will hopefully continue doing so in the future. Although my dream would be to become a professor at a university that is known for their maritime archaeology program. Hopefully, I will extend that dream to becoming department head at that school.
