The CalOptima Office of Regulatory Affairs and Compliance ensures CalOptima and its subcontracted health networks comply with all appropriate standards, regulations, contractual provisions, federal waivers and laws. As the Privacy Manager, I am responsible for managing all ongoing activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance of, and adherence to the organization’s policies and procedures covering the privacy of, and access to, protected health information in compliance with federal and state laws.

As a Regional Compliance Specialist with Providence Health and Services, I assist five hospitals with maintaining compliance with healthcare laws and regulations and internal policies and procedures. Our department is also responsible for employee education and projects involving other compliance initiatives.
