My research focuses on policies to accelerate the decarbonization of energy. I primarily look at policies surrounding nuclear power, as it has been proven one of the fastest and most effective ways to provide clean power on a large scale. I also analyze historical energy transitions and global energy scenarios and roadmaps.

Lead tours and hands-on workshops for elementary school groups on paleontology, anthropology, and biology. In general, exude inappropriate enthusiasm about dinosaurs.

Analyzed observations of spectral emissions from Io, a moon of Jupiter. Created computer models of Jupiter's plasma torus and its affect on Io.

Worked on the project, "Power to the People or People to the Power? Effective Strategies for Energy Poverty Alleviation." Building on research conducted by 2010 Summer Fellows, we explored effective strategies and policies to expand access to modern energy sources to the 1.3 billion people worldwide lacking electricity access and the more than 2 billion burning dirty and primitive fuels for cooking and heating.
