About Jessica Malter
My career path has been driven by my desire to raise awareness about social injustices. Initially, I channeled this into journalism. I had a great run as a producer for ABC News and CNN, where I gained invaluable storytelling, writing, and producing skills. Eventually, I decided I could have a more significant impact in non-profit communications. I left CNN, joined Oxfam, and over the past 10 years have led communications initiatives at the Guttmacher Institute, Women Deliver, and Plan International. I love the challenge of figuring out how an organization can leverage strategic communications in support of its mission and leadership. I’m at my best when crafting organizational narratives, developing and implementing multi-faceted communications strategies, writing impactful organizational and issue-based messaging, building community, and producing compelling content to educate and influence.Once a journalist, always a journalist. I’m inquisitive, curious, and thorough, can quickly get up to speed on issues and analyze and synthesize information, a stickler for accuracy, and inclusive in my approach. If you are interested in learning more about my background and experience, please do not hesitate to reach out!
