The Programs Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the delivery of Alberta Music’s programs, including professional development, industry development, and community engagement initiatives, as well as day-to-day operations of the association.• Coordinate Alberta Music’s annual programming schedule & the logistics involved with the presentation of workshops, industry information sessions, and certain other events, Responsible for attending Alberta Music events, assisting with the co-ordination and logistics of events when required, including managing RSVP’s, greeting attendees and managing membership sign-ups or inquiries, and overseeing volunteers.• Assist in coordinating the PEAK Performance Project activities and logistics, such as orientation, bootcamp, showcases, preparing contracts when required, coordinating with venues, marketing & promotions, and on-site representation and coordination. Coordinate all publicity for above events, including writing and distributing press releases, creating and distributing advertising, and submitting text to the communications administrator for website listings advertising the aforementioned events, Prepare grant applications required for funding of above activities, Prepare final reports for grants and to contribute to the Manager of Programs and Operation’s monthly board reporting.• Represent Alberta Music at local, national and international events• Present information about Alberta Music and its programs to community groups, educational institutions and act as a guest-speaker-liaison on behalf of Alberta Music in the community and at industry events• Responsible for educating members and non-members as to the benefits of membership including events and opportunities, growing the membership through outreach and networking, and maintaining the online membership system and newsletter mailing list.• Coordinating program’s creative content, such as promotional videos, and the design of promotional materials.

Responsible for planning and developing events and campaigns that raise awareness on local and global issues that are pertinent to the student body, including Global Awareness Week. Responsibilities include working with the marketing department to coordinate design jobs, leading various publicity campaigns throughout the campus, submitting monthly budget and event reports, creating appropriate promotional materials for events, booking organizations, speakers, entertainment and photographers for events, supervising off-campus school activities, providing students with information through dynamic, pleasant and personal contact on the phone, through email and in person, electronic media updating, booking table space and equipment for events, as well as attending monthly meetings and working with other coordinators on campus.

Daily customer relations with patrons selling tickets, ticket database management, filing, answering phones daily for general/ticket questions, computer troubleshooting, creating sales spreadsheets, training and managing a large group of volunteers and coordinating the volunteers and box office on-site throughout the duration of the festival.

Responsible for assisting the Office Manager with many critical areas of preparation for the 2009 Roots and Blues Festival. Duties included assisting with planning details for the artists, media and patrons of the festival; creation of data spreadsheets of artist and vendor details; festival program creation including input of performer biographies, discographies and other written materials; coordinating on-site camping logistics, and working with the production crew during the duration of the festival.
