My work with the Myanmar Climate Change Alliance, which sits under UN Habitat, involved going on a 10-day mission in drought-stricken and cyclone-hit areas to produce a series of articles for national media outlets. I also produced digital content and helped organised training on climate change for journalists.

I founded the Myanmar Foreign Correspondents Club to bring journalists together in a challenging environment for reporting. We met every month for three and a half years and had guest speakers in our third year. The club had up to 40 attendees each month, which included local journalists, expat journalists and those flying in on reporting assignments from.

The opportunity arose in the lead up to Myanmar's historic general elections of 2015, which ended 50 years of military rule. My responsibilities included editing front page news stories, writing features and coordinating the copy-editing team. I also conducted training.

My responsibilities included writing reports on investment opportunities for British companies across a range of sectors such as oil and gas, producing regular investment news bulletins for embassy staff and members of the British Chamber of Commerce, writing press releases and helping to arrange visits by British trade delegations. Based on interviews with UNAIDS and Save the Children’s implementing partners and beneficiaries in Yangon and Kachin State, I wrote a report titled, "Innovative approaches to promote harm reduction programs in Myanmar." I also produced a case study on promoting harm reductions programs in Myanmar through peer workers.
