As a program associate at CAPE I coordinate professional developments, gather and maintain necessary administrative work for programs. This includes requests for support from teachers and artists, contracts, payment requests, and documentation. I make regular site visits to CAPE schools across the city. During these visits I document student/teacher/artist collaborations and consult on site, negotiating any areas in the teacher/artist partnership which require assistance or encouragement. Sharing CAPE's work is a key function of my position. I am responsible for maintaining CAPE's Portfolio Design Project's website which is shared publicly, periodically reporting to our Board of Directors, bi-annually writing reports for the US Department of Education, and representing CAPE at meetings and conferences.

As a Teaching Artist for After School Matters I was responsible designing and implementing visual art based curriculum, planning and managing budgets, interviewing, hiring, and supervision of students. I practiced individualized instruction as much as possible to accommodate all experience levels- from zero experience with art making to students who returned year after year. I coordinated visiting artists lectures, field trips to artist studios and galleries, collaborations with other ASM programs; Fashion Design, Furniture Design, Film Making, and Graphic Design. Cultivating community among students across grade levels and from schools throughout Chicago was key to the success of the programs. Students wanted to be able to continue screen printing on their own terms. So I created a screen printing studio that students could replicate at home. Students were encouraged to engage in the process of constructing our studios giving them the first hand experience the needed to continue creating outside of the classroom.
