Development of Community Engagement Team, strategy and engagement delivery.Piritahi specialises in land development. We get government-owned land ready to build new houses on. We also design and construct new or upgraded streets, parks and public places.

Responsibilities were to coordinate the engagement and consultation workflow for Auckland Council, throughout a team of 8 talented engagement experts. The overall aim was to build the trust of Aucklanders. Specifically, lead best practice in Engagement and Consultation by embedding the Significance and Engagement Policy across council and CCO's. My team and I coordinate engagement across the council, train/support/teach/review/deliver business partners in successful engagement processes. We also facilitated the development of this little known profession by hosting a network of practitioners, providing regular development opportunities. Continually improving, learning and sharing, this is an exciting time for the engagement and consultation profession.

Management of stakeholder liaison team for Major Projects Northern Region. Based on large civil construction projects providing proactive stakeholder management and communication services to engage those affected by the work. In addition to working with people new to the profession if stakeholder liaison, the role mostly involved development and implementation engagement strategies for medium and large scale civil construction projects. Creating effective engagement strategies with communities, businesses and all other likely affected members of the public proved to be both fulfilling and challenging. I enjoyed sharing my knowledge and providing leadership to a talented team where we flourished and innovations in stakeholder engagement were achieved, such as Best Use of Social Media in Local Government.
