My goal is to accelerate scientific discovery by improving how researchers communicate and collaborate.As Program Director for Open Science at Astera, I support entrepreneurs building new technologies for openly sharing knowledge.Prior to that, as Executive Director of ASAPbio, I led a researcher-driven nonprofit to advance the use of preprints and open review in the life sciences. My interest in improving the structure and efficiency of biomedical research communication stems from my academic background in biochemistry and synthetic biology, where I obtained my PhD from UCSF and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School.
