About Jessica Roher

My litigation practice covers a range of areas including administrative law, commercial litigation, employment law and professional liability. Prior to practicing at Paliare Roland LLP, I practiced at Lenczner Slaght LLP and served as a law clerk at the Court of Appeal for Ontario where I assisted judges with a wide variety of criminal and civil appeals. I received my law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School, graduating as the Silver Medallist in my class and receiving numerous course prizes. While in law school, I completed the Criminal Law Intensive Program, which included a work placement at a leading criminal defence firm. I was also a senior editor of the Transnational Legal Theory Journal, and I spent two summers working for the International Organization for Migration in Geneva, Switzerland and in Accra, Ghana where I wrote a research report on human trafficking.Before attending law school, I coordinated civic engagement and education programs for a United Way member agency in Scarborough. I also developed teaching resources for Toronto Elections that were distributed to civics teachers in Toronto’s elementary schools. I have also sat on a number of boards, including West Scarborough Community Legal Services, a legal aid clinic, and Sojourn House, one of Toronto’s largest refugee shelters and settlement agencies.
