This work will aid Olympic National Park in identifying critical concerns for preservation maintenance. In the field, I compiled and reported information concerning the condition of each structure or landscape, photographed the condition, and entered this data into the Cultural Resources Inventory System (CRIS). I assisted the park’s museum curator with the yearly inventory of Olympic National Park’s collections and archival materials. I assisted a backcountry trail crew with hands-on preservation maintenance of a historic ranger station in Olympic National Park, including the application of a new cedar shingle roof. For this position, it was necessary for me to have the ability to hike steep grades on uneven terrain and safely complete multi-day backcountry backpacking trips within Olympic National Park. This position gave me strong written communication skills, hands-on preservation experience, and the ability to complete fieldwork independently. Show less

In the field, I compiled and reported information concerning the condition of each archeological site, photographed the condition, and entered this data into the park’s archeological site monitoring file. I collaborated with and assisted trained masons to complete masonry preservation on Tuzigoot National Monument by repointing historic masonry using soil cement. I assisted staff with the research and writing of three (3) National Register of Historic Places nominations, this included one historic district and two archeological sites. I assisted faculty and a scholar from the University of New Mexico with the documentation of extant archeological earthen plasters and in situ stabilization of archeological earthen plasters using earthen edging and flake reattachment using gelatin adhesive at Montezuma Castle National Monument. I collaborated with National Park Service staff to create a National Park Service research library at Tuzigoot and Montezuma Castle National Monument Headquarters. I digitized photographs and documents relating to Vanishing Treasures Program stabilization at Tuzigoot National Monument.
