With a team of adult and child neurologists, I helped create a new section of The American Academy of Neurology focusing on Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.

Responsible for the complete care of a child with complex medical needs and developmental disabilities. Responsibilities included: tracheostomy tube care, suctioning, and daily changing; ventilator management; tube-feedings; medication delivery; all daily activities for one child for a full week of camp.

Resident Physician in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities Residency Program. This program encompasses Pediatrics, Neurology, Child Neurology, and Developmental Medicine in 6 years of training.

I worked as both a Research Assistant and Counselor for young adults with Williams Syndrome, a rare genetic condition. I facilitated the camp's research and camp activities with the other staff. I led extra "jam sessions" in the early mornings and evenings to encourage the participants' love of music during their down time.

4th-6th graders with severe, multiple disabilitiesI was a student teacher for students with severe physical and intellectual disabilities, including Cerebral Palsy, blindness, deafness, and sensory processing disorders. I created adaptive teaching materials such as animated books, integrated lesson plans with Occupational, Physical, and Speech Therapists, and integrated sensory and musical lessons.I incorporated the theme of "around the world" into my lessons and connected my students with severe disabilities to individuals in other areas of the world through Skype, live-radio, and other sensory activities through which they could relate.

19-22 year old students with intellectual disabilitiesI coordinated vocational and functional training for my time there as a student teacher. I also introduced Community Advocacy training into the program, and initiated a functional reading program for students to learn final reading skills before exiting the public school system.
