My passion for occupational therapy, public health, and service reflects my deep commitment to improving the health and well-being of marginalized individuals and communities. I am driven by a desire to help others overcome challenges and lead fulfilling lives. When I was little, I recall telling everyone around me that I wanted to grow up and become a doctor when I was older. While this quickly deviated to firefighter, baker, and art teacher, during a span of a few weeks, my heart always made its way back to healthcare. Through the meaningful opportunities that I have been blessed with during my academic career, I have only became more certain of my path. I am passionate about being the healthcare provider that could give individuals their mom, brother, grandma, or best friend back. I have had the privilege of participating in numerous healthcare opportunities ranging from psychiatric sitting, biomedical research, and elementary speech pathology, and at the end of the day, these opportunities only emphasize how passionate I am about becoming an occupational therapist. I give a great deal of credit to those therapists who teach their patients how to walk, but I want to be there to teach them how to dance.
