With over 10 years of experience in Cultural Resource Management as an Archaeologist, I have developed various skills including consulting on complex undertakings, laboratory analysis, field inspection and excavation, Native American consultation, and in-depth knowledge of Section 106, CEQA and NEPA as they relate to Cultural Resources. I began my career by volunteering on academic excavations, and completing an internship dealing with laboratory cleaning and analysis of excavated artifacts. Since then, I have participated on a number of archaeological surveys, excavations, site recording and data recovery projects, and have served as a crew chief and project coordinator. I have an M.A. in Cultural Resources Management from Sonoma State University (December 2012). My thesis focused on the lithic artifact analysis of a prehistoric archaeological deposit in Clear Lake State Park. This research stemmed from a project that I managed for the Anthropological Studies Center under a contract with the California Department of Parks and Recreation that included the analysis, cataloging and write up of a collection of artifacts excavated from a site in Clear Lake State Park in 1984.Today, as an Associate State Archaeologist with the California Office of Historic Preservation, I review projects in California that require federal agencies to comply with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (36 CFR 800) and coordinate with agencies to develop agreement documents to guide their compliance with this set of regulations.
