As an Analyst, IT Governance and Policies, risk management has become the main focus of career where I am assessing and identifying the potential risks that may hinder the reputation, safety, security, and financial prosperity of Home Trust.Once these risks have been identified, assessed, and evaluated, I work will team leads to implement processes and procedures to ensure that they are fully prepared to deal with any potential threats.Daily risk tasks include preparation for and production of risk reports, attendance at and participation in incident and risk-related meetings, presentation of risk proposals to senior members of staff, as well as the yearly exercise of re-evaluating our risk domains, metrics, and thresholds.My role requires exceptional writing and communication skills, interpersonal collaboration and peer relationship management, and the ability to work with many diverse groups of resources to generate reliable reporting, communications, and formal policies.In this position, I also support IT governance functions; curate and develop IT policies, procedures, and standards; and assist in enterprise stakeholder management, including editing of departmental, executive, and board-level communications and presentations for content and grammar. Additionally, I also perform IT Senior Leadership preparation, tracking, and reporting; creation and maintenance of formal IT documentation; and the facilitation and support of IT-business stakeholder relationships.

As a PCO for Home Trust Company, my duties are three-fold. First and foremost, I work alongside program directors on multiple business-critical initiatives. I prepare for and document all working team and steering committee meetings. I track risks, action items, issues, and decisions made in all correspondence to ensure that every item is addressed. This position has exposed me to some very diverse responsibilities, including application testing and HTML coding.The second aspect of my position has to do with the integration of a third-party platform that will be used to track all IT resourcing. This software will make it much easier to track employee and contractor hours, thus creating accurate budgets and reducing the over-allotment of personnel. Currently, I am assisting in the development and field population of this software, but eventually, I will be involved in tracking resources and overseeing the project lifecycle from start to finish. As a PCO, I am the single point of contact between the Project Management Office and our Service Desk. Project Managers and Program Directors come to me and my associate to file change requests, incidents, and elevated requests. The management of these items is vital as they can range from P4 (non-critical) to P1 (business-critical and often causing some amount of system downtime).Lastly, I am managing IT Communications from the CIO to the IT Department, the Executive Committee, Internal Audit, and the Board of Directors. I am very excited to leverage my communication skills in order to inform the company of the great work that Information Technology accomplishes on a monthly basis.

Mainly, I am attending meetings as a coordinator for the Intranet Redesign project for which I will be making the BRD. I am also compiling and editing the bimonthly IT Newsletter and assisting the Sr. SAP Training Developer with various projects, including the newly-created IT Onboarding Packages.

Currently, I am helping write and edit content on the newly designed Home Capital Group website, I am writing, organizing, and editing content for the Home Trust IT Newsletter, and I am assembling content for the new hire onboarding packages.

With Elemental Editing, I mainly take on small academic or professional projects from multiple clients. I do occasionally take on larger works, including manuscripts and academic theses; however, due to my time constraints, I am not currently looking for work of this magnitude.

At all four front desk locations, I act as the liaison between first year Queen's students and all of Queen's services and facilities.

At Tribal Voices I keep the store looking appealing for the cutomer by shining the silver, dusting, oiling the wood carvings, and cleaning the glass displays. I engage the customers in order to make them feel at ease and ensure that they are satisfied with their purchase. I have also spent my own time memorizing product knowledge regarding the precious stones, the types of wood used in the carvings and sculptures, and more so that I may provide each customer with an informative and eye-opening experience. Sadly, even good things must come to an end; the store closed and was moved to Lakefield. I'll never forget the time I spent there or the wonderful friends I made.

In addition to the shared duties of tea sampling, loose tea selling, product selling, and barista duties, as a Team Lead I was in charge of motivating my fellow employees to uphold the standards that were firmly held by Teavana. Essentially, my role was to create a positive atmosphere.

In this position, I focused mainly on poetry (with the exception of some work with short stories) by reading each entry and providing feedback to the poet/author. Then, the team would have weekly meetings where we would discuss each work in detail in order to decide which pieces would be published. When the time for printing came around (twice a year), I had a hand in deciding layout and giving the overall publication a thorough copy edit.
