    Six years ago, I began working for the owners of The Hudson in an empty building without heat or electricity, and only an old Mac and a Keurig. With my networking and knowledge of the event industry, I built the business from the ground up to a thriving event venue. I met with construction subs during the remodel for construction planning in what an event venue needed. Five months after I was hired, we opened the business to the public, and have been a growing venue for 5.5 years. Working for a small business means you wear every hat imaginable, from marketing to human resources to sales to invoicing to vendor relations, social media, inventory, building maintenance, payroll, and implementation of the events. What you don't know, you learn. Our first year, we ended with 56 paid events and will finish 2022 with 116 paid events. Even in 2020, we even managed a profit. With countless sparkling reviews and solid vendor relations, I ran this event venue with the help of my small team and contract labor. I created training manuals and trained my staff in sales, event planning and building maintenance from my previous years of experience in sales, event planning, venue management and building maintenance. I set all the pricing, rules and regulations, templates for organization and work flow and contracts/agreements with clients and vendors as well as created a planning database for all our clients.
