About Jessie Mahon

Jessie’s career path has been untraditional, shifting between visual art and performing arts since she was very young. Having received a BFA in acting, she moved to New York City, where she instead brought her experience in storytelling to visual art, illustration, and design. Her very first group exhibition took place at Rockefeller Center in the summer of 2020, and she has since collaborated with art directors at Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group, HBO, Netflix, FX/Hulu, PigPen Theatre Co., and Madison Wells Media on projects spanning book jacket illustration, creating artwork for television and feature films such as Euphoria, Better Things, and (forthcoming) You Are SO Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah!, band artwork, and large-scale hand painted mural design and installation. Jessie is currently developing a new series of drawings that explore the vast emotional life within each of us and the nature of human complexity which everyday observation fails to fully capture. She will present this new work in a solo exhibition slated for Spring 2023.Before moving to Los Angeles, Jessie worked as a Scenic Artist at The Public Theater, Showman Fabricators, and Williamstown Theatre Festival, where she gained invaluable knowledge and proficiency in painting treatments, working collaboratively on a large scale, and creative problem solving. Her favorite role was working as a Lead Scenic Artist at The Delacorte Theater for The Public Theater’s Free Shakespeare in Central Park during the summer. When she’s not working, Jessie will either be cooking at home, taking long walks in her neighborhood, reading contemporary fiction, or hosting food-related parties. (Think hot dog party and potato party.) You can find her @jessiemahon_.
