Skillshare is an online learning community where anyone can discover, take, or even teach a class. Classes range from beginner to expert, with opportunities for novices to follow their curiosity and experts to hone their craft.Jessie self-produced the online, 30-minute class “Leaning into Mistakes: Intuitive Art Making.” The class, appropriate for all skill levels and age groups, has approximately 200 students and is a low-stakes, repeatable lesson in moving through feelings of perfectionism to help deepen students’ creative practice and shift away from feelings of fear, doubt, and anxiety that can creep up while expressing oneself. All class content was written, filmed, edited, drawn, and created within a two-month period and Jessie continues to promote the class and engage with students.

Showman Fabricators is a custom fabrication shop for creative markets across the United States, specializing in Broadway and Off-Broadway theatrical productions, major news networks, events, and television.Jessie collaborated closely with Showman’s Scenic Charge and Project Managers to safely and effectively realize all scenic elements on respective projects. This includes producing paint samples, leading small teams of scenic artists on three to five different projects daily, color mixing and matching, proficiency and extensive knowledge in all scenic painting products, treatments, tools, and techniques.

The Public Theater is one of the nation’s first nonprofit theaters and civic institutions engaging, both on-stage and off, with some of the most important ideas and social issues of today. The Public’s wide breadth of programming includes an annual season of new work across all New York City’s five boroughs.Jessie implemented an array of painting treatments under the guidance of The Public’s Scenic Charge and Assistant Scenic Charge, simultaneously leading a rotating group of scenic artists. Overall responsibilities included producing paint samples specific to each Scenic Designer’s vision, color mixing and matching, faux surface treatments including marble, wood, brick, and stone, large backdrop painting, and creative problem solving. This role required Jessie’s expertise in both The Public’s indoor theaters and at The Delacorte Theater in Central Park.

Williamstown, Massachusetts, United States

Williamstown Theatre Festival produces both classic and new plays every summer on the Williams College campus, bringing America’s finest actors, directors, designers, and playwrights to the Berkshires. Williamstown is home to one of the nation’s top training and professional development programs in which emerging theater talents collaborate with accomplished mentors in an educational atmosphere.Jessie managed a daily crew of four to eight staff scenic artists and interns, focused on mentorship, co-teaching foundational scenic treatments and techniques, tool use and cleaning, and color theory, mixing, and matching. Jessie was the Associate Charge of the Nikos Theater, a 250-seat theater with a proscenium stage that hosted three productions every summer. Under the supervision of Williamstown’s Scenic Charge, she offered creative solutions when met with each production's unique challenges, coordinated staff and intern schedules and responsibilities, and monitored scenic progress within a cross-departmental, fast-paced environment.
