Supervisory role overseeing logistics and staff activities for incubator farm operations under the Beginning Farmer and Rancher Development Program (BFRDP) federal grant. Includes budget tracking and grant reporting, as well as assisting in additional grant writing/editing. Office-field hybrid position with responsibilities ranging from coordinating weekly farm transportation, managing social media and communications, volunteer and client recruitment, expanding marketing initiatives, coordinating seed orders and greenhouse starts, technical support to SyRAP farmers, partnership building, and general program/new farm development.

Aided in the successful preparation and operation of Global Green's weekly farmers market and community supported agriculture events. Role involved engaging with a diverse community of New American and American-born customers as well as maintaining relationships with Global Greens program farmers while running the SNAP-EBT/Credit card reader market booth.

Provided programmatic, administrative, community outreach, and direct service support to the agriculture, volunteer income tax assistance, and matched savings programs offered within the Economic Development department of LSI's Refugee and Immigrant Services. Executed and coordinated a variety of projects or duties in the interest of both organizational capacity building and day-to-day program aid to help increase farmer and community gardener participants' access to sustainable economic opportunities and education as well as community access to a local food system.

Worked on a team responsible for overall production and maintenance of a wide variety of organic produce grown for the farm store, U-pick, and twice-weekly CSA program. Duties included greenhouse work, field transplanting, weeding, harvesting, processing and safely storing yields using a combination of manual and machine techniques.

Conducted a participatory community needs assessment in a rural village in Pita, Guinea to determine barriers to sustainable agroforestry practices and identify possible solutions at the community and/or individual level. Prioritized cultural integration, language learning, and relationship building to maximize the potential effectiveness of projects and organizing efforts. Worked alongside women smallholder farmers in their fields and in other hands-on capacities with community members including tree nursery establishment and seedling planting, orange flesh sweet potato propagation, demonstration garden plot maintenance, and facilitation of nutrition trainings.

Performed extensive vegetation surveys for the Missouri Ozark Forest Ecosystem Project, a 100-year study investigating the ecological response of forests subjected to different forms of management (clearcutting, selective harvesting, no harvesting). Completed a 3-week training period to become familiarized with the methods, technology for navigation and data entry, and 300-500 plant species necessary to recognize for successful field research.

Supported Neighbors of the Onondaga Nation (NOON) advocacy efforts to promote the sovereignty and land rights action of the Onondaga Nation and the rights of Indigenous peoples everywhere. Took on various organizational office duties while also contributing to event planning, petition circulation, creation of outreach materials, tabling or other community engagement efforts, and monthly steering committee meetings.

Functioned as the field and office assistant for an ecologist/botanist with the Maine Natural Areas Program. Conducted detailed surveys for rare plants, natural plant communities, invasive species, and aquatic vegetation gradients across various ecosystems to identify intact exemplary habitat areas to prioritize for conservation. Used ArcGIS to create field maps, track existing sites, and document new ones.

Worked at the forest ecology lab on campus in the sorting, analysis, and data entry of soil and leaf samples derived from the Multiple Element Limitation in Northern Hardwood Ecosystems (M.E.L.N.H.E) Project located in Bartlett Experimental Forest, NH. Assisted in the yearly application of N, P, and Ca fertilizers to specific stands in Bartlett Experimental Forest as part of the ongoing M.E.L.N.H.E project that measures forest responses to certain nutrient limitations in the soil. Performed research to compare the sap flow rates of American beech and sugar maple trees between forest plots with differing nutrient treatments.
