Freelance ArtistMadagascar National Parks Feb 2019 - PresentI designed a floor plan to help Madagascar National Parks develop a cohesive display at Ranomafana National Park's new interpretive center. The goal is to educate both locals and tourists about the unique wildlife and the importance of the rainforest. It also includes the history of Ranomafana village and the cause and effects of deforestation. So far, I have illustrated a biodiversity scene highlighting over 50 endemic plant and animal species found in the ecosystems of Ranomafana National Park. It was printed and displayed at large-scale in the interpretive center. Now local guides and teachers use it as a tool to educate tourists and students before and after their hikes into the rainforest. I also painted a life-size elephant bird and giant extinct lemur. I also provided feedback and translation services for their brochure and other displays within the park to help keep the information about the wildlife accurate. -
Media Consultant And Communications SpecialistCentre Valbio Jun 2018 - PresentI am currently stationed at a world-class biodiversity research station in Ranomafana Madagascar called Centre ValBio. The facility uses a holistic approach by combining research, education, and community. When I met Dr. Patricia Wright we started talking about the center's needs and what I have to offer in exchange for six months of room and board. In June 2018, I moved to Madagascar and began contributing illustration, graphic design, and overall creative direction. I also began managing Centre ValBio's social media platforms and increased followers and audience engagement drastically. After six months I decided to continue my stay, and was appointed as Communications Coordinator between Centre ValBio, NGOs, and community leaders. Dr. Wright hired me to gather material, write, and design the 64 page 2018 annual report for Centre ValBio in collaboration with the administrative director and local resident artist. I branded their first annual Save the Lemurs NYC Gala which raised over $120k for lemur conservation. I also created a one minute submission video for the 2019 St Andrews Prize Award that granted Centre ValBio $25k for their community capacity-building project.

I had the honor of creating interpretive and interactive displays for new exhibits including the Panther Jump and Frog Call identification audio visual display. I worked closely with the marketing department on collateral and zoo events. I supervised a graphic design intern and collaborated with multiple departments from concept development to signage installation. I also contributed support for animal enrichment, fundraising events, and AZA inspections.

Illustrator And VolunteerCheetah Conservation Fund Mar 2015 - Jun 2018Orjiwarongo, NaIn 2015, I visited the Cheetah Conservation headquarters in Namibia to research and gather materials to illustrate a children's book written by founder Dr. Laurie Marker. While I was there, I worked with the head of education to develop a goat predation identification game for farmers and their families. After returning to the states, I painted 28 full page watercolor illustrations for her children's book. Chewbaaka is a true story about an orphan cheetah cub that Dr. Marker raised. He became an important ambassador for cheetahs in Africa and around the world. You can now purchase the book at: https://cheetah.org/learn/ccf-books/I then joined the Northern California Cheetah Conservation Chapter to help with fundraising events and conservation conferences. I launched their social media outreach site on Facebook. -

Graphic Designer & Zoo Camp CounselorDallas Zoo Sep 2012 - Aug 2013Immediately after college, I moved back to my hometown and began trying different jobs and volunteering. I started out doing animal husbandry volunteer work in the African hoof stock section at the Dallas Zoo. During that time, the Giants of the Savanna team worked hard to slowly integrate giraffes and elephants into a mixed species exhibit. I volunteered to edit animal behavior video footage for the research department. From there I discovered that there was a graphics department and the opportunity to intern with the team for 6 months and fell inlove with the job. It fulfilled my creativity while contributing to conservation education. I learned firsthand how to research, copy write, design, print, and install signage throughout the zoo. Eventually I was hired by the education department to teach Zoo Camp to middle schoolers that year. My classes included photography, exhibit design, and conservation careers.
