Many members of our communities depend on having healthcare but are suffering the consequences of high costs and low quality care without knowing that they have options for cost efficient, high-quality healthcare support and resources. My experience volunteering at a family planning and sexual health care clinic, advocating for preventative initiatives in ending sexual and domestic violence, and leading leadership meetings discussing health options for underserved and underrepresented communities has educated me on how to support people’s individual mental and physical health and medical needs.
