I received my MS in Geology in the sedimentology and stratigraphy research group; our focus was in physical and numerical modeling of sedimentary systems as well as morphodynamics. I began my graduate career conducting one of a kind 3D physical experiments of fluvio-deltaic systems undergoing various rates of lateral subsidence in the Sediment Transport Earth Processes (STEP) basin located at the JJ Pickle Research Center. This work focuses on the interplay of geomorphic surface evolution and resultant stratigraphy with an emphasis on basin modeling. Continued work will include conducting physical and numerical experimental models of aeolian deposits subsiding into a mobile (salt-like) substrate.

During part of my internship, I created supplemental data to be used in conjunction with world-class academic research for my MS work at the University of Texas at Austin - Jackson School of Geosciences. For the remainder of my internship, I matured a prospect volume to value using in-house software on a new 3D seismic dataset. I also focused on developing new technical skills needed for the oil and gas industry while continuing to advance my knowledge in soft-rock geology.

My academic research as an undergraduate at the University of St Thomas focused on a variety of subjects related to basin reconstruction in the central basin and range between Las Vegas, NV and the Colorado Plateau. My ardent interest in sedimentology and stratigraphy led to developing a proxy for using stable delta 13 Carbon isotopes to predict relative updip versus downdip locations in lacustrine basins to aid in paslinspastic reconstructions of our basin. This work has also been validated in several ancient marine systems and is currently being tested in modern lake settings. I began to specialize in integrating carbonate sedimentology (specifically various properties of stromatolitic and algal limestones) with classic basin analysis techniques.
