Waste Knot rescues perfectly good fruit and vegetables from going to waste. Due to strict cosmetic standards, there is a large percentage of fresh produce which finds itself destined for landfill, anaerobic digestion, animal feed or is simply left to rot in the fields. We supply companies with boxes of the produce; enhancing their sustainability credentials, making sure the farmer is paid and most importantly, making sure that food that is usable and edible is put to good use. We developed our business model to focus on the benefits to our planet, the growing population and those growing the produce. The farms we work with use the most sustainable of growing methods (reservoirs, natural pesticides, good husbandry amongst others) so by supporting these farms and growers, we encourage the ways and means by which they produce the food and hope for them to lead the way on growing practices.
