I am an Assessment and Diversion Specialist at Family Gateway, where I support homeless families and individuals in finding safe and stable housing solutions. I use my communication and case management skills to conduct intake interviews, assess needs and eligibility, and provide referrals and resources to clients. I also collaborate with other agencies and community partners to coordinate and streamline services and prevent duplication.My passion for education and youth services stems from my education and previous work experience. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling from California State University of Los Angeles, and I am currently pursuing my Master of Social Work degree at Howard University, focusing on community, administration, and policy. I have also worked as an Education and Employment Specialist at First Place for Youth, where I helped foster youth transition to adulthood by providing academic, career, and life skills coaching. Through these roles, I have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in working with diverse and vulnerable populations, including homeless, CSEC, LGBTQ+, and school-aged youth. I am motivated by the opportunity to make a positive impact on their lives and empower them to overcome their challenges.
