National oversight of the therapeutic residential rehabilitation programming operations at 6 locations in California and Texas. Developed and led the first national company employee focus groups at all locations and delivered site specific and system wide strengths and opportunities for improvement to corporate leadership. Developed and led the first national programming team leadership meetings with a focus on system-wide consistency and quality.
Shelter Manager
Responsible for all operations, 24/7/365. Established and maintained multiple new cooperative work relationships with on-site and off-site community partners and stakeholders. Led a weekly Barriers to Recovery meeting for homeless individuals, trained all staff using evidence based practices, developed a comprehensive culture change strategy, and initiated and led a weekly multi-disciplinary homeless outreach team to engage those living in encampments under I-30 near downtown Dallas.
Triage/Intake Coordinator
Oversight of development and launch of a new clinically oriented triage/intake operations at the point of entry for all homeless individuals seeking services, over 11,900 individuals in 2015. Successfully grew business by developing and implementing a clinically sound 24/7/365 intake/triage team, allowing for a significant increase of over $1,000,000 in state funding. Researched, developed, and implemented a clinical triage tool to address immediate mental health, substance abuse, and medical needs, alongside the VI-SPDAT. Provided oversight of quality control measures, including database entry management for multi-million dollar grants from federal, state, county, city and private funders. Developed and piloted multiple supportive employment programs and judicial reentry programs alongside Dallas County judicial and community leaders.
Care Manager
Maintained an ongoing caseload of 60 clients with the most significant behavioral health barriers, working under strict deadlines. Placed over 90 homeless individuals into housing, the most for any care manager during that time. Managed the most intensive behavioral health cases and acted as an advocate for client rights. Assessed client, developed a collaborative homeless recovery plan and delivered comprehensive case management services. Evaluated and addressed individual client needs and concerns. Advised guests on community resources, made referrals and devised realistic treatment plans. Reduced the unnecessary risk of institutional care by treating high-risk clients living in the community. Presented case history material for review and discussion with other staff members. Served as mentor to junior team members.
Target Case Manager
Served as lead clinician (QMHP-CS, at The Bridge Homeless Recovery Center) for a pilot program for patients in crisis with schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety and personality disorders. With a primary goal to increase outpatient follow up and overall quality of life and to decrease the utilization of unnecessary inpatient services, saved the North Star/Value Options insurance network over $1,000,000 by reducing unnecessary inpatient admissions. Developed comprehensive treatment plans that focused on accurate diagnosis and behavioral treatment of problems. Facilitated therapeutic classes that focused on anger management techniques, relaxation skills, impulse control, social skills, emotional coping skills and functional living skills.
North Star Liaison
Developed an ongoing relationship between Parkland and The Bridge Homeless Recovery Center to appropriately coordinate client care services. Facilitated inpatient transfers to higher level of care facilities and reviewed all doctor requests for orders of protective custody and provided approval/denial based upon clinical criteria provided.
