About Jessica Ports Robbins

I am the Senior Partnerships & Innovation Lead at the Global Disaster Preparedness Center (GDPC), where I apply my Ph.D. in International Development and over a decade of experience in information and communication technology for development (ICT4D) to create and implement innovative solutions for disaster resilience and preparedness. I lead the research and development process of the GDPC, including human-centered design sessions, innovation workshops, and partnership engagement, to ensure sustainability and ownership of newly developed tools and approaches.My core competencies include project management, qualitative research, and digital transformation. I have a proven track record of supporting the coordination and dissemination of strategic projects and crosscutting initiatives of the GDPC, such as the Universal App Program, which provides customized mobile applications for disaster preparedness to over 100 Red Cross and Red Crescent National Societies. My mission is to empower communities and organizations to prepare for and cope with disasters, using digital technology as a catalyst for social change and impact.
