Relationships can be a great source of happiness, but they can also be really difficult. Our relationships are affected by many factors, including life stressors, self-image, past harms, and beliefs about how relationships “should” be. When they’re not going well, we can feel disconnected, hurt, and frustrated, and this can negatively impact many other areas of our lives. My passion and expertise lie in supporting a diverse array of clients in all types of relationships including friendships, parenting, couples, polycules, and families. Therapy with me is non-judgmental, flexible, and paced for the client’s needs. Through warmth, humor, and authenticity, I strive to create a space where clients feel safe to express their true selves while honoring their unique values, preferences, and culture.As a sex-positive, kink-knowledgeable, and trauma-informed therapist, I draw heavily on Attachment, Emotionally-Focused Therapy, Narrative, Gottman, and IFS. I incorporate somatic work such as EFT (tapping), Breathwork, and Meditation/Visualization as well as concrete, practical tools like journaling, thoughtwork, and emotional regulation. I integrate pieces of my unique education and experience, including 15 years as a parenting coach, supporting birthing and postpartum mothers as a doula, grief support with Hospice, and advocating for the incarcerated. Even my time as an engineer (which may seem like a strange prior career for a therapist!) taught me that we are not siloed, independent beings. In our systems of relationships, as with systems in general, everything affects everything else.
