I am currently teaching two courses at CUNY Lehman College. One is an Introduction to Geography (GEH101), which I'm teaching in the Lehman Freshman College (fka, Freshman Year Initiative), and the other is a completely new course that I designed for the MS-GISc curriculum called Cartographic Design and Presentation (GEP 680).

In the Urban GIS lab I exist in an advisory role to both graduate and undergraduate students, most of whom pursue studies in the fields of public health or earth, environmental and geospatial sciences (EEGS). My principal role is to assist students as they learn various GIS platforms (ESRI, QGIS, etc.) and provide guidance on lab assignments and/or research projects. I provide additional assistance in the areas of cartography, database management, and various other topics related to GISc.

As a lab technician for the CUNY College Now! Summer Science Academy I worked with high school students from all over the five boroughs who were selected to participate in a two month long college-level GISc course at Lehman College. My principal role was to assist students in the lab portion of the class which involved introducing them to the ESRI ArcGIS platform, providing instruction in basic spatial analytic methodology, principles of cartography, and basic research design.

I designed a number of maps and diagrammatic figures for a book chapter titled, "Assessing population at risk: Areal interpolation and dasymetric mapping" by professors Juliana Maantay and Andrew Maroko, to be included in the forthcoming book, Handbook of Environmental Justice (Routledge, UK 2016).
