About Jess Weisser
As an experienced researcher and administrator, I love to take on roles where I can be inquisitive, solve problems and make people's lives better. That might be by gathering and interpreting data to see where problems are and how they can be solved, or by using my administrative, IT and project management experience to improve work processes so there is more time to focus on the goals that most matter. Across my career I have received repeat recommendations and contract extensions, becoming known for my ability to quickly familiarise myself with new systems and software (including teaching myself new software and technologies from scratch to independently address a project need), my incisive qualitative/quantitative data analysis and conscientiousness with data handling, and my professional and efficient written/oral communications. I graduated my master's degree in English literature with a distinction. For my bachelor's degree, I graduated with a first-class grade, and was awarded the Cowan, Johnson and Watson Prize for Best Overall Performance in Literature. I have worked with qualitative and quantitative research methods and regularly used interdisciplinary approaches and scholarship to support my studies. I completed a funded summer research scholarship during my studies, and was published in peer-reviewed academic journals twice. I am confident with a range of technologies, including Microsoft Office, video conferencing (e.g. Microsoft Teams/Zoom), Power BI, Adobe CC Suite, WordPress CMS, and HTML/CSS/JavaScript. I am currently focusing my professional development on graphic design theory, and improving my coding skills to help automate administrative processes and aid in web/software development in my current role.
