Jessyca is the Director of Organizational & Community Initiatives at South Arts, a Regional Arts service organization and funder. Her South Arts Portfolio includes Creative Placemaking, dPlan|ArtsReady, Micro Accessibility grants, Southern Cultural Treasures, and capacity building initiatives for the field. Jessyca is also the Owner of Opportunity Arts, an arts consulting business that works with elected officials, government, arts organizations, and individuals to center the arts as an economic development and social cohesion industry. She has worked as an arts administrator for nearly twenty years in Atlanta. Jessyca served as the founding Executive Director of C4 Atlanta from 2010 to 2021. During her tenure, C4 Atlanta became a nationally recognized arts service nonprofit. Jessyca raised millions of dollars for the organization's services and programs. C4 offered workforce development training, fiscal sponsorship, co-working, and advocacy for thousands of artists every year. Before joining the world of nonprofit arts administration, Jessyca was an independent actor performing in Greater Atlanta. Jessyca participated in the Bank of America Neighborhood Excellence Initiative 2007 Leadership Program, the 2011 Arts Leaders of Metro Atlanta, a 2011 Judith O’Conner Scholar, BoardSource, named Alumni of the Year by the University of West Georgia Theatre Company in 2013 and will receive an Achievement Award from her Alma mater April 2014. She has been an invited speaking for events and conferences all over the United States, including Georgia Forward, Gather Atlanta, the Association of Performing Arts Service Organizations, Artists Thrive!, and the National Arts Marketing Project. Jessyca earned her B.A. in Theatre in 2000 from the University of West Georgia, and Masters of Library Media in 2009 from Georgia State University. She is currently a graduate candidate at GSU in Planning and Economic Development. Jessyca is a proud member of the Leadership Council of the National Small Business Association.
