About Jesus Mireles

Graduated in 2020 with a Bachelors in Plant Science from Fresno State. During my undergrad, I interned for Bayer Crop Science as a research technician intern. After graduation, I was awarded a competitive fellowship with Bayer Crop Science where I was provided the opportunity to pursue a masters degree in Plant Science at Fresno State. With experience gained in remote sensing and entomology as a research technician intern with Bayer, I decided to combine my interests into a master's thesis. My master's thesis entailed the utilization of remote sensing technology to detect web-spinning spider mite (Tetranychus spp.) damage in California's Central Valley almonds (Prunus dulcis). I recently graduated with my master's in plant science in May of 2023 and accepted a position with the UCCE Small Farms team in Fresno Ca in June of 2023. As of October 2nd, 2023, I am serving as the Fruit and Almond Advisor for Fresno and Tulare Counties.
