Process Engineer on the Amuay Refinery: At the CRP Amuay refinery (635 MBD) I have worked in two areas; Reception and Supply (4 months) and Industrial Services (the rest of time). In Reception and Supply there are systems similar to Cardon, in addition to these the following systems are available:• Secondary treatment unit of oily waters where water is treated before being discharged into the bay.• The open pit storage system for heavy fuels, together, has a capacity of 27 MMB. In this system, variables are tracked for receiving and sending heavy fuels.In the area of Industrial Services, the following systems are monitored:• Reception, storage, purification and distribution of raw water to the refinery and water treatment units for boiler feed.• Water softening units (400 Ton / H of capacity) where the operating variables are monitored to comply with the specifications and to guarantee the reliability of the equipment.• Ion exchange water treatment units (capacity 990 Ton / H) for feeding to steam generation systems.• Boilers for the generation of steam of 40 Barg and 10 Barg with a combined capacity of 1500 Ton / H. Follow up of the operation of the boilers, qualities of water supply and recovery of condensates.• Cooling water system (saltwater) where pumping stations, cooling towers and distribution stations are monitored in the refinery network.• Nitrogen generation and distribution system at the refinery.• Reception and distribution of fuel gas for refinery furnaces, boilers and turbogenerators.• System of generation and distribution of compressed air in the refinery guaranteeing the quality and pressures required.• Monitoring of the wastewater treatment and wastewater treatment units of the refinery.• Monitoring of the process variables of the power generation system (turbo-generators of vapor and gaseous fuel) of the refinery.

In addition to guaranteeing the dispatch via cisterns and tankers.• Reception from aviation fuel distillation units, guaranteeing storage and dispatch, complying with the operational procedures.• Monitoring of the system of pipelines that interconnect the Cardón and Amuay refineries.• Follow-up to the system of reception, storage, supply to process units and dispatch of liquefied petroleum gases (LPG).• Follow-up to the reliable operation of the docks where the supplies and products of the Cardón refinery are received and dispatched.• Reception from the units producing liquid sulfur, storage and dispatch via tanker and tanker.• Preparation of heavy fuels (Fuel Oil and Bunkers). Storage and shipping.• Follow-up to two closed pressure relief systems (flares).
