They also encourage protection of these damaged facilities from future events by providing for hazard mitigation measures during the recovery process.Qualifications Experience related to general engineering and construction practices for public infrastructure Experience inspecting and assessing damaged infrastructure and accurately quantifying, documenting and describing damage General Knowledge of building codes and standards in order to identify potential issues Experience as a surveyor, design engineer, or construction inspector/manager Experience in Public Works The ability to be customer-centric during on-site inspections and validations, to include active listening, handle surprises and reading an applicant or applicant representative to tailor quality of service and experience Capable of using physical tools to take measurements, photographs and capture GPS coordinates Strong computer skills, to include competency in Adobe and Microsoft Office SuiteIf you are interested in a position in the Public Assistance cadre, please email your resume to fema-careers@fema.dhs.gov and include "Public Assistance" in the subject line.
