During my 34-year professional career I have worked in consumer goods companies (Unilever, in Spain, USA and UK) and in retail (Carrefour in Spain and France, Walmart in the UK and Soriana in Mexico). My goal has always been to generate value by identifying short and long-term opportunities, designing plans with specific objectives and creating the necessary teams to achieve them.I have been a Board member of ASDA (Walmart UK, 2017-18) and the Chairman of the Board of IPL (International Procurement and Logistics), a company 100% owned by Walmart (2017-2018).Due to my background as an ICAI Mechanical Engineer, my career began in supply chain where I designed strategies to optimize the "end to end" cost and at the same time to improve the products availability. In this area, it is essential to base strategies on new technological capabilities. I have an extensive international experience in multinational companies with multicultural teams. For fourteen years I have worked in the UK, US and Mexico, travelling frequently to other countries due to my global responsibilities. My professional career evolved towards commercial areas and general management in the retail sector. Artificial intelligence and big data were, and are, key to optimizing business plans, as well as customer management. The environment and the entire ESG strategy have always been a fundamental pillar in both the FMCG and retail sectors. Waste management, the reduction of packaging and the reduction of CO2 emissions are fundamental in these economic sectors.Training has always been a pillar in my career, both for me and for my teams. This has allowed me to apply the latest available technologies in business, adapting them to economic realities. I am a proactive, results-oriented professional with solid ethical principles.
