Decomposed electronic waste (e-waste) recycling process into steps that mirror manufacturing processes. Synthesized recorded video, field measurements, and observations into statistical analysis of e-waste recycling process. Optimized recycling rate of e-waste recycling facility by designing floor plan for storage, dis-assembly, and export-holding facilities. Collected data and conducted interviews of e-waste recycling companies in USA and Germany. Identified differences in various government policies that affect the design and profitability of e-waste recycling industry.

Created a pattern recognition algorithm to identify the Siemens Star with 85% accuracy in over 300 images. Estimated severity of product recall (due to thermal sensitivity of camera) as a function of regional temperature variation.

Designed and built a wave energy extraction device to determine drag plate geometry that minimizes vertical movement. Conducted physical experiments in tow tank.Wrote a report summarizing mathematical model and experimental findings. Presented in a poster session.
